Your Guide To Pay For College!

Refund Preference

You decide how you will receive any financial aid that is due to you by selecting a “refund preference” at BankMobile.

You have two choices:

  • Deposit to an existing account

Money is transferred to your existing checking or savings account the same business day BankMobile receives funds from Solano Community College. Your bank may take 1-2 business days to make that money available to you.

  • Deposit to a BankMobile account

If you open an account with BankMobile (like the Vibe Checking Account) and your identity is verified, money is deposited the same business day BankMobile receives funds from Solano Community College.

If you do not choose a refund preference, a paper check will be mailed to the address on file with BankMobile after 21 days.

Note: expected pay dates are shown on the disbursement schedule—they are usually five to seven business days after the scheduled disbursement date shown in your student portal.

Personal Code

You will receive a green envelope in the mail with the personal code you will need to set up a login on the BankMobile site and select your refund preference. You also have the option to request a personal code directly from the BankMobile Disbursements website.

Issues with Your Card, Account, or Password

If you are having trouble logging in to your BankMobile Disbursements account, you can reset your password. If you continue to have trouble or have other concerns about your card or account, contact BankMobile Disbursements by phone (1-877-327-9515).

Transferring from another school that used BankMobile Disbursements

If you transferred to Solano Community College from a school that also used BankMobile disbursements, your accounts cannot be merged. You will have to call Customer Care at 1-877-327-9515 to have a new profile created so that you can select a refund preference that works correctly for Solano College. When creating your new profile, make sure you use an email address that is different from the one you used for the profile from your previous school.

When Will My Refund Be Available?

Check the disbursement calendar (or your student portal) to find the scheduled disbursement date.  This is the date that the financial aid office will determine your eligibility for disbursement. It takes the college 5-7 business days to request money from the government, credit your account, and determine the correct amount of your refund (if any). Once that process is done, the funds are sent to BankMobile for processing. 

Students with the BankMobile Vibe Checking Account will have funds available the same day BankMobile receives funding from our institution. Students who choose the direct deposit option will have the funds transferred to their bank the same day, too, but most banks will take another 1-2 business days to process your funds and make them available to you.

Financial Aid refunds will time-out if a refund preference has not been selected within 21 calendar days after the refund has been released by the college. Before a refund times-out BankMobile will send you an email with a reminder to select a refund preference.

After 21 days, BankMobile will mail a check to your primary address on file.  If you do not deposit or cash the check within 90 days, it will become void and your Financial Aid refund will be returned to the college. You may still have the opportunity to select a refund preference after your refund is returned to the college, however, you will have to notify the Financial Aid Office when you have made a refund selection, so that your refund may be reissued.
