ASSC Mission Statement

We, the Associated Students of Solano Community College (ASSC), do ordain and establish a student government committed to effective student participation in all areas of student concern.

Furthermore, we shall, through independent action and in concert with the college community exhibit leadership by example and encourage academic excellence; we shall participate in the development, augmentation, and improvement of educational programs.

Additionally, we pledge to protect freedom of assembly, diversity, and expression. We shall tirelessly advocate the right of students to participate at all levels of governance; moreover, we shall provide services and coordinate activities for students, and advance the ideal of responsible citizenship.

Interested students can apply for an elected position during the ASSC elections or can apply for any vacant Senator positions. Currently the ASSC meet every Tuesday from 12:30 – 2:00 pm in Room 1421

Requirements: 

  • 2.3 (or above) cumulative GPA for an elected position or 2.0 (or above) cumulative GPA for senator or senator associates.
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 units each semester. 
  • You must also be able to attend weekly in-person ASSC meetings without any class conflicts.

Elected Positions: President, Vice President, Student Trustee or Legislative Advocate.

Any interested student with a 2.3 (or above) cumulative GPA in classes taken at the College, and enrolled in at least 6 units each semester is eligible to run for the elected position of President, Vice President, Student Trustee or Legislative Advocate.

To apply to be a Senator or Senate Associate you must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units and have earned at least a 2.0 GPA in SCC coursework. You must also be able to attend weekly ASSC meetings without any class conflicts. Currently the ASSC meet every Wednesday from 12:30 – 2:00 pm in Room 1421 and the ICC meets First and Third Wednesdays from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm.
