The Department of Public Safety (DPS) Community Partnership Team (CPT) is here to help strengthen the relationship and trust between DPS and the campus community we serve.  Our team will work to educate our students, faculty and staff on what to expect from their campus department of public safety officers and how we can work together to build a safer, more inclusive community. Our officers strive to be guardians of our community and model for the future of campus safety. We recognize that students, faculty and staff may come to campus with a variety of different experiences with law enforcement, and we are committed to building a positive relationship with our community.

Our Community Partnership Team officers can assist in a wide range of non-emergency situations. These officers will be able to answer questions and concerns, advise on a range of public safety issues, and connect our students with the resources they need. Topics may include, personal safety, prevention of dating violence, or other pressing issues. The officers can discuss the Department of Public Safety involvements on campus and our commitment to the Solano Community College community. Often times, challenging questions lead to opportunities for connection, engagement and community education.

At no other time has it been so important to re-imagine service-oriented community law enforcement services, bolster trust and enhance communication. This involves adapting to the changing needs of Solano Community College and to campus safety as a whole. We want our community to be heard and feel safe at Solano Community College. The Community Partnership Team program strives to be an information option for students and community members outside of emergency situations and traditional law enforcement responses, whether it be to determine if a law enforcement report is needed, seek safety advice or provide feedback. We are committed to strengthening the trust of our community and ensuring that Solano Community College is one of the safest places to learn, work, and visit.  Sgt.
