COVID Update

The Solano Community College Board of Trustees voted to approve a "COVID vaccine or testing" mandate which will be enforced starting Friday, October 15.

Students will be required to either get vaccinated, get tested, or take online classes and use online student services exclusively.

Students and staff members, masking is currently recommended indoors on campus to prevent the spread on cold, flu, COVID and any other contagions. The college will adjust this policy when the State or Solano County health agencies adjust due to current Community COVID levels.

Please report any staff or student COVID cases, symptoms and exposures to the COVID CASEWORKER email.  covidcaseworker@solano.edu

COVID-19

Solano Community College is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our students,
faculty, staff, and community members. We adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines and protocols set forth by
trusted authorities, including the California Department of Public Health, the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC), and Cal-OSHA. As respiratory viruses, including COVID-19, circulate year-round in the
United States and California, we recognize that certain viruses, like influenza (flu) and respiratory syncytial
virus (RSV), become more active from October through March. In light of this, Solano Community College
remains vigilant in our health and safety practices to help protect our campus community during these seasons
and throughout the year.

  • PCR Testing on campus will no longer be available
  • Course Key and Symptom Checks will be discontinued
  • Distancing is still recommended when possible
  • Standard Precautions will continue:
    • Perform hand hygiene
    • Use Masks as an optional protection
    • Follow respiratory hygiene/cough etiquette principles
    • Monitor your symptoms and refrain from coming to campus when ill
    • Contact your healthcare provider when exposed to COVID, for treatment and recommendations.
  • Students who are already fully vaccinated with both shots of either Pfizer or Moderna or the one shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will email a copy of their vaccine card to covidcaseworker@solano.edu. If a student uploaded their proof of vaccination to Canvas in the fall, that proof is sufficient for the spring, so there is no need to do it again. If you are unsure, you are free to email your proof again.
  • If you are not yet vaccinated, you have options. You can find free vaccination clinics in the community. See the schedule. Also, most pharmacies and supermarkets now offer walk-in vaccinations.
  • If you prefer not to get vaccinated, you must undergo COVID testing once a week, and upload a negative result for each test to be allowed on campus. The college will offer free testing 5 days a week (M-F), including some evening hours. The PCR test is a nasal swab test.
  • Employees and volunteers will also be required to be fully vaccinated by October 15th or submit negative COVID test results before coming to campus. For more information, click here.

MASKS ARE STILL REQUIRED INDOORS AT ALL TIMES (regardless of vaccination status)

*For all Course key app issues, vaccination proof, and test result submissions, please email covidcaseworker@solano.edu. We are standing by to assist you with any issues that may arise.*
