Coronavirus
Testing Information

*On campus Inspire PCR testing results are available in 48-72 hours*

For on-campus testing you should plan on getting tested one week (7 days) before you plan to attend class so there is plenty of time for your results.  The negative test result is valid for one week at a time.  For example, if you plan to attend class on Monday, February 14th, you should take a campus PCR test on Monday, February 7th (one week prior). If you receive a negative test result, it will be valid for the week of February 14th.

Students may still use PCR or antigen test (including at-home tests) results from off-campus providers.  For more information on testing click here.

Please send test results to covidcaseworker@solano.edu

California has implemented Test and Treatment locations to provide testing and treatment for COVID -19. At Test to Treat locations, people will be tested for COVID-19. If someone tests positive and treatments are appropriate for them, they will receive a prescription from a health care provider. While these medications (antiviral pills) to treat COVID-19 are free of cost, sites may charge for the visit. Find further information on locations at the tab below.

Employees that require testing for a possible exposure, or to confirm symptoms may email the COVIDcaseworker@solano.edu to receive information on how to receive a take home ANTIGEN test. These tests are reliable and will allow you to test at home; and receive results in 15 minutes to determine your current COVID status. Tests are available for drive thru access at the 1700 building (gym) for pick up.

If you are not vaccinated and work or take classes on campus, you must undergo testing once a week. It will be your responsibility to upload a negative test result before coming to campus.

*Please note that should issues with testing supply chains and testing results improve the college will revert to twice weekly testing and reinstate previous requirements.  We will communicate any changes to the college community.*

Let’s work together to stay safe!

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I get tested on campus?

Free testing is offered at SCC’s Fairfield campus, Monday-Friday, in front of the Gym, Building 1700. Testing involves a nasal swab test.

How long does it take to get results?

On campus testing normally takes up to 48 hours for results, which is similar with most off-campus testing services.  However, current statewide delays impacts campus test results, which may take up to 3-7 days.

Where do I upload my results?

Email your results to covidcaseworker@solano.edu.

What happens if my result is positive?

A COVID caseworker will receive notice of a positive test and you will be contacted by email and asked to respond to the caseworker immediately. You may not enter any campus facility if you have a positive COVID test.  The COVID caseworker will ask questions and determine when you can come to campus. If you are told to leave the campus due to symptoms, a positive result, or for any other reason, you must do so.

Does this apply to any SCC center or facility?

Yes, these rules apply to any classroom, center, building, facility, etc., affiliated with SCC including clinical and internship sites.

How will my instructor know if I am “cleared” to be on campus?

The COVID caseworker will advise your instructor that you are not allowed on campus and when you may return to campus. Instructors will make every effort to provide you the opportunity to complete the work or make up assignments if your absence(s) is related to COVID.

What if my classes are online, but I need to come to campus for student services?

The majority of student services are provided via zoom, email, or phone to limit traffic on campus. Access to specific in-person services is by appointment only and is subject to the same vaccination or testing requirements. Please plan ahead for any in-person appointments.

Does this apply to the spring 2022 semester?

The vaccine or test mandate will likely extend into the spring 2022 semester as will the requirement to wear masks inside campus buildings. As conditions change, we will notify students.

What if I’m a visitor to campus?

Visitors are required to comply with the requirement to wear masks when entering any campus building.
