  • It takes 48 hours on average to obtain test result (whether on campus or off campus testing)

  • Test results are valid for 4 days (incubation is 3-5 days)

  • We will need the list of unvaccinated individuals from canvas/course key, so we can check them off as they test.

  • We will promote off campus testing for anyone who can not attend the hours of operation on campus.

  • Unvaccinated students and employees who come on campus will need to provide 2 negative test results each week

  • Students and employees must “upload” their negative test result prior to coming to campus which will connect to course key for a green pass.

  • Course key should ask for an upload of results from outside testing service, or a date and time student was tested on campus (negative results will be collected on all tested)

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I get tested?

Free testing is offered at SCC’s Fairfield campus, Monday-Friday, (hours), in front of the Gym, Building 1700.

How long does it take to get results?

Depending on the time you take the test, results are usually available by the end of the day. If you choose to test towards the end of the day, your results may not be available until the following business day.

Where do I upload my results?

You can upload your results here.

What happens if my result is positive?

A COVID caseworker will receive notice of a positive test and you will be contacted by email and asked to respond to the caseworker immediately. You may not enter any campus facility if you have a positive COVID test.  The COVID caseworker will ask questions and determine when you can come to campus. If you are told to leave the campus due to symptoms, a positive result, or for any other reason, you must do so.

Does this apply to any SCC center or facility?

Yes, these rules apply to any classroom, center, building, facility, etc., affiliated with SCC including clinical and internship sites.

How will my instructor know if I am “cleared” to be on campus?

The COVID caseworker will advise your instructor that you are not allowed on campus and when you may return to campus. Instructors will make every effort to provide you the opportunity to complete the work or make up assignments if your absence(s) is related to COVID.

What if my classes are online, but I need to come to campus for student services?

Student services are provided online by Zoom, email, or phone so no student should be required to come to campus for services. Access to any in-person service is by appointment only and the vaccinate or test mandate applies so you will need to plan in advance of your appointment for services.  Any time you wish to come to campus you must wear a mask inside buildings.

Does this apply to the spring 2022 semester?

The vaccine or test mandate will likely extend into the spring 2022 semester as will the requirement to wear masks inside campus buildings. As conditions change, we will notify students.

What if I’m a visitor to campus?

Visitors are required to comply with the requirement to wear masks when entering any campus building.
