Lab Time and Attendance
Students enrolled in a 300-level lab course on the main campus will see the Day/Time for the course reported on their class schedules as TBA. TBA means that students will choose the day and time to attend lab based upon the student’s class schedule and lab availability. Each course (English 370L, 350-355L, 310, and 320) has a specific number of attendance hours required per week that students will schedule.
English 370L students are divided into two groups based on their English 370 course section, with each group attending lab for approximately eight weeks. During the eight-week session, students will be scheduled to attend 4 hours per week in the lab. Students assigned to Group 1 should come to the lab to schedule hours as soon as possible at the beginning of the semester. Students assigned to Group 2 will be given specific dates to come to the lab to schedule hours. The time spent in the lab is in addition to classroom time.
English 350-355L students attend the lab throughout the entire semester. Students will be scheduled to attend 6 hours per week in the lab. Students should come to the lab to schedule work hours as soon as possible at the beginning of the semester. The time spent in the lab is in addition to classroom time.
English 310 and English 320 students will be scheduled to attend 3-4 hours per week throughout the semester. Students should come to the lab to schedule work hours as soon as possible at the beginning of the semester.
To earn credit in the lab all lab students must attend their scheduled lab sessions each and every week they are assigned to attend lab until the lab assignments are completed. Students who do not attend lab regularly are subject to being dropped from both the lab and the class. So that staff may help students step by step, all assignments must be done in the lab.
Lab time is tracked and recorded by computer as students check in and out of the lab each time they attend one of their scheduled sessions.
