Solano Community College continues to build a network of educational and industry partners to ensure seamless college to career pathways for its students. At its November 18 board meeting, the Solano Community College Governing Board approved an articulation agreement with Ohio University providing students who complete the associate’s degree in Nursing at SCC with a “seamless educational path” to the completion of a baccalaureate degree in Nursing at the Athens, Ohio campus. An articulation agreement represents an understanding that courses completed at one institution will be accepted by another institution without requiring students to take additional or remedial coursework. Current and past SCC students who complete the associate degree in Nursing with at least a 2.0 GPA will be eligible for admission to the bachelor of science degree in Nursing at the Ohio university.

At its December 2 board meeting, the SCC Governing Board approved a memorandum of understanding with Touro University’s College of Pharmacy (COP). The agreement develops a pathway for SCC students to transfer and meet their educational and career goals in the field of pharmacology at the Touro campus in Vallejo. Touro COP will offer interviews for the PharmD program for Solano Community College students, each academic year. Additional requirements are outlined in the MOU available at SCC’s webpage at http://www.solano.edu/governing_board/2020/201202AttachmentsOnly.pdf

The SCC Governing Board also approved a memorandum of understanding with MERCEDES-BENZ USA, LLC. Approval of this agreement provides Mercedes Benz technical training to SCC automotive students that incorporates current technology and assists in developing qualified entry-level technicians for Mercedes-Benz dealer franchises. MBUSA’s intent is to support the College in providing more accessible and specific technical training to assist in developing qualified entry-level technicians for Mercedes-Benz dealer franchises.
