NACCC Survey 2022

Dear Students,

Solano Community College strives to create a sense of unconditional belonging for all students. To inform our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, this October we are conducting the National Assessment of Collegiate Campus Climates (NACCC), a survey about the racial climate on our campus. This national survey, developed by the University of Southern California (USC) Race and Equity Center, will provide valuable information about our own students’ experiences as well as the opportunity to compare our results with those of other two-year colleges nationwide.

The survey takes only about 15 minutes to complete.

All students who complete the NACCC survey will automatically be entered into a prize drawing! Twenty students who complete the survey between Oct. 4th-25th will win $50 Amazon gift cards.

You can only access the NACCC survey through your SCC email. A unique survey link has been sent to each student’s SCC email address. Please look for an email about the NACCC from helpdesk@nacccsurvey.org and click the link inside to participate.

Your responses will be confidential. Completed surveys will be sent directly to the NACCC survey team, not to anyone here at Solano College. More information from USC about the NACCC is available here:

Thank you so much for helping us to make Solano College a welcoming and safe community where all students can thrive.

NACCC Survey Information

What is involved?

This study involves a short web survey asking questions about the racial climate at Solano Community College. For example, there are questions in the survey about whether you feel you matter on campus, ways you may engage with students and professors of other races on your campus, the extent to which you think your college cares about the racial campus climate and responds to racist incidents, and your feelings of safety on campus and in the surrounding community. The survey will take about 10-15 minutes to complete.

Risks and Benefits of Participation

It is important to understand that taking part in this survey is entirely voluntary. Some of the questions may be upsetting to some people. You can skip any question that you do not want to answer. There is no penalty for skipping any question or any part of the survey. Your decision will not affect your relationship or status with your college or university. The risks to participating in this study are minimal and relate to data security. However, your information will be kept in secure and protected data files. There are no benefits to you for participating. Choosing whether or not to participate will not affect any student benefits you may be receiving.

Confidentiality

USC NACCC will protect your confidentiality except as required by law. Your privacy and confidentiality are important to us. USC NACCC will use the information you provide for research purposes only, and will not disclose your individual survey responses combined with your identity to anyone outside of the project team.
