University Tours

University tours give students an opportunity to become familiar with a variety of 4-year institutions and what each has to offer in terms of academics and student life. Transportation is provided and unless otherwise stated, it’s FREE!

How to Sign Up:

To sign up, click the registration link for the university you would like to visit. You must complete the entire online form in order to register for the event.

Tours are typically an entire day, and include lunch, a campus tour, and admissions presentation. If there is an additional presentation, like a tour for a specific major, it’s noted in the description.

Once you register for a tour, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your seat. If you don’t confirm your seat then your spot will be given to another student on our waitlist. Only once you confirm your seat are you officially registered for the tour. If you confirm for a tour and do not show up on the day of, you will NOT be able to register for another tour this term.

  2. Watch for an email from our office asking you to confirm your spot on the bus. This typically is sent two weeks before the tour date.
  3. Reply to the confirmation email by the deadline given. Failure to do so will mean that your seat will be given to someone on our waitlist.

HBCU Spring Break April 6 – 12, 2025

HBCU Spring Break

April 6th – 12th, 2025

Solano’s HBCU tour is an opportunity for our students to travel to states across the country to spend time at Historically Black Colleges and Universities and other historical and cultural sites, and immerse themselves in campus life and culture. HBCUs will be offering on-the-spot admissions and scholarship support, along with admissions presentations, on campus activities, and other great events. Thanks to SEA funding, this entire trip (airfare, hotel, transportation, and food costs) is completely FREE for 10 students.

Students should know the following in preparation for their application:

The application includes two 300-500-word essay responses to the questions:

  • How have you prepared for transfer while at Solano?  How does transfer relate to your future career and/or personal goals?
  • Describe your interest in attending the HBCU tour. Please tell us why you are interested in participating in Solano College’s 2025 HBCU tour.

If selected for the tour cohort, the student must be able to provide the following to tour providers:

  1. Valid identification for flying purposes (driver’s license, state ID, or passport).
  2. Proof of medical insurance.
  3. If a student is in their first semester at SCC, they will be required to upload a letter of recommendation from a current professor.
  4. Participants will be expected to attend preparation meetings prior to the tour.
