Solano’s ASL program provides a foundation of interpreting skills for
students seeking to transfer to a four-year institution to become an
interpreter. The coursework presents American Sign Language in a
cross-cultural context, addressing the professional ethics and standards
for interpreters.

Solano College’s Makerspace allows students to collaborate and
experiment with diverse technologies and raw materials to create,
innovate, and develop critical skills in Science, Technology, Engineering,
Art and Mathematics (STEAM). It’s self-directed learning while
experimenting with fabrication, robotics, circuitry, woodworking,
programming, and networking, just to name a few.
