Coronavirus
Facility Safety Protocols

The primary means to manage COVID–19 transmission risks on campus begin with vaccinations and extend to the use of face masks while indoors, maintaining physical distance between people, and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces.  The HVAC systems on campus provide secondary support to these measures.

Solano Community College District has implemented recent government and engineering professional recommendations to the fullest extent possible.  The systems will operate to maximize bringing in fresh outside air rather than recirculating air and the air filters have all been upgraded from current MERV-8 to the new minimum standard of MERV-13/14.

SCCD will work to ensure that building occupancy is reduced to the fullest extent possible in order to ensure physical distancing, however when distancing is reduced, the other measures implemented as described above will be our best defense against COVID-19 transmission.
